Blockchain & FinTech Lawyer

What you will be doing
  • Advisor to Blockchain & FinTech entrepreneurs: As a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs and decision-makers, you will provide fast-growing startups and established companies with the expertise and counsel they need to achieve their vision in the blockchain and financial market regulatory sector. 
  • Expert: You will further develop your legal and commercial expertise with a core focus on FinTech and DLT. You will be at the cutting edge of innovation in the field, be it all kinds of digital financial services, payment solutions, stable coins, DeFi and DAOs, token offerings, DEXes and other decentralized applications, NFTs and marketplaces, various tokenisations from financial products over real estate to alterantive assets. You will communicate with German BaFin and European authorities and dive deep into laws such as the MiCA regulation, KWG, ZAG, and other European regulations. 
  • Leader: We encourage personal growth by building leadership skills in real-world settings. You will lead projects and have the chance (if you want!) to manage multi-disciplinary teams compromising juniors, lawyers and other business/tech people. 
  • Business (wo)man: You will spot growth opportunities, develop new products, and help extend LEXR’s customer base through marketing and business development activities. 

 

What is required
  • Fluent German and English: You will be working with both local and international customers, but most matters will pertain to the German market, for which you need fluent German skills. 
  • Experience: You should demonstrate a clear interest in the FinTech and DLT field, and should preferably have around two years of experience working as a lawyer or in-house at a company in the FinTech / DLT field. As we’re operating in fast-paced environment, you need a healthy dose of curiosity towards the business models of our clients to keep up to date with the latest developments in legal and tech. Our clients value us for our hands-on approach and practical experience – ideally, you also have some user experience navigating the world of digital assets, tokens, wallets, exchanges and the like 
  • Qualification: The German second state examination in law is considered a plus – we also encourage people with a non-traditional background to apply. 
  • Growth mindset: We’re looking for lawyers who can see opportunities and are willing to strive for the right balance. We are looking for lawyers who are driven by continuous personal and professional growth.  
  • Attention to detail: Providing actionable legal advice goes much further than reciting the law. At LEXR, we dig deeper and work harder to provide the best solutions to our customers, which requires diligence and attention to the minutiae of every case.  
  • Business sense: We advise businesses and, in order to provide actionable and valuable legal advice to businesses, you need to have at least a basic understanding of how the business world works. 
  • Team spirit: You will be working side by side with customers and team members alike. You are humble, positive, open, and enjoy getting to know what makes people tick. 
  • IT affinity: We are 99% digital and constantly test out new tools to improve our work environment and customer experience. Proficiency in MS Office is a must, any additional IT skills are a plus.
