Cookie Policy

1 Which cookies do you use?

The website (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”) uses cookies and similar technologies to improve the user experience and ensure that it is functioning effectively.

This policy (the “Cookie Policy”) informs you of our policies regarding the deployment of cookies and similar systems when you use our Website and the choices you have associated with those technologies.

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your device by visiting the Website. We use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them). You may change your browser settings to delete and/or block cookies.

We use the following types of cookies for the purposes explained:

2 Do you use tracking systems?

2.1 Google Analytics

We may employ a tracking system such as Google Analytics (including Universal Analytics) or similar services on our Website. These are services provided by third parties, which may be located in any country worldwide (in the case of Google Analytics, Google LLC is in the U.S., and which allow us to measure and evaluate the use of our Website (on an anonymized basis). For this purpose, permanent cookies are used, which are set by the service provider.

The service provider does not receive (and does not retain) any Personal Data from us, but the service provider may track your use of the Website.

The information generated through the cookies about the utilization of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to and stored on a central server. If appropriate, this information will be passed on to third parties to the extent this is prescribed by law or to the extent that third parties process the data under contract.

We reserve the right, if required, to employ other tracking systems than those named in the section on tracking data for the specified purposes.

2.2 Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. This service allows website tags to be managed via an interface. Google Tag Manager only implements tags. This means that no cookies are set, and no personal data is recorded. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags which, in turn, may record data. However, Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If tags have been disabled at the domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags if these are implemented with Google Tag Manager. You can find out more about Google Tag Manager by clicking the following link:

2.3 Google Remarketing

We use Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise our Website across the Internet. AdWords remarketing will display relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the Website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your terminal. This cookie does not in any way identify you or provide us with access to your computer. Google AdWords Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you. You can opt-out of Google’s use of cookies or device identifiers by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.

2.4 Google Optimize

Optimize utilizes Analytics cookies to target content variants to a user and a content experiment cookie to determine a user’s participation in an experiment. Google Optimize is used to keep track of your involvement in website experiments. In this context, an experiment could be something like an A/B split test. This is where half of the people who visit our site see one webpage and the other half see an alternative version so that we can test which version works best. Learn more.

2.5 Hotjar

We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device’s IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf.

For further details, please see the ‘about Hotjar’ section of Hotjar’s support site.
