What are the data privacy requirements to list your app on the App Store?

Apple requires app providers to submit their privacy policy as well as to provide privacy details through their questionnaire on Apple Connect. Here you will need to disclose namely the data types your app collects, as well as the purposes of the data processing, third-party sharing and tracking.
What are the data privacy requirements to list your app in the Google Play Store?

Like Apple, Google asks app providers to answer a questionnaire regarding their privacy practices. The main topics include how and what personal data is collected, for what purposes and if it is shared with third-parties. You will also be asked to share your data security policies and your app’s privacy policy.
Can my app be removed from the Google Play Store/App Store due to privacy violations?

Yes. By publishing your apps on either store, you agree with their terms and conditions and their privacy policies. If you infringe them, you may be subject to different actions, namely rejection from publication, limited visibility and, in more serious situations, removal, suspension and even account termination.
Do I need to add privacy details if I update my apps on the Google Play or App Store?

Yes. Both Google and Apple make transparency one of the core principles regarding the stores they manage. For that reason, app providers need to keep both their privacy policies and the information provided to Google /Apple updated, whenever modifications are made to the app or its privacy practices.
