JumpShot Trouble Shooting for Macintosh:

Problem: When I install the supplied Jumpshot CD I insert the CompactFlash card and the LED does not light up.  Why not?

Possible cause:  The CompactFlash card being used is not a Lexar USB Enabled card.

Solution:
Check the label on the CompactFlash card being used make sure the label reads “USB ENABLED” on the label.

Problem:  When I insert the Lexar USB Enabled CompactFlash into the JumpShot cable the system indicates “There is no software for this device.”  Why?

Possible cause:  The Jumpshot software drivers are not present in the “Extensions folder.

Solution:  Install the supplied CD that came with the Jumpshot cable.  If you have Internet connectivity,  go to www.lexar.com and download the driver version 1.2 for the Macintosh to your desktop and run the Installer (it is always best to load the latest driver).  The necessary extensions for the Jumpshot cable will be installed.  You can check this in the Extensions manager as seen in the screen shot below.

Problem:  I have a Nikon camera with “Nikon View Software” installed, when I transfer the images to my desktop or hard drive the system will freeze up and I have to restart the system why?

  1. Possible cause: Nikon View Software running under OS9.
Solution:  Open up the “Extensions Manager” Control Panel under the Apple Menu.  Turn the “Nikon View” extension off.  Restart the computer and try transferring the images using the JumpShot Cable.

  2. Possible cause:  The Jumpshot cable is plugged into a external USB Hub or the USB port on the keyboard.
Solution:  Restart the system with the USB Hub disconnected.  Plug the JumpShot cable directly into the USB port on the Macintosh to see if the problem goes away.

Problem:  After I insert the Lexar USB Enabled CompactFlash card the system indicates would you like to format the card.  Why?

Possible cause:  File exchange is not “ENABLED”.

Solution:  Go to the Control Panel click on File Exchange.  If File Exchange is not there, Open up the “Extensions Manager” Control Panel under the Apple Menu. Turn on the File Exchange Control Panel  and restart your computer.

Memory Stick Trouble Shooting :

Problem: I formatted my 128mb Memory Stick under Windows 98/ME/2000 and now it doesn¹t work in my camera.

Cause:    There is an incompatibility between the Windows file structure system and the file structure system on the camera.

Solution: You must format the Memory Stick in the camera instead of using the computer.  If you format it on the computer, it will not harm the card it will just have to be reformatted in the camera.   Please be aware that any reformatting will erase any pictures or other information you have stored on the card.
